Placing an Order

Orders can be placed online up to 4 days prior to pick up date - in some cases, a few weeks are necessary (especially for cakes). We can only take a certain amount of orders, so please get your orders in early.  Some weekends can book up a few weeks in advance!  If you need a small order in a day or two, give us a call at 843-578-2891, and we may be able to squeeze you in.  

Orders must be picked up on the date you’ve chosen.  If you are unable to pick up your order, please call us at 843-579-2891 and speak with one of our helpful employees.  We can usually hold orders for the next day or so, but please be aware that you will be getting the same items - we will not bake new items for late pick ups.  We are closed on Sundays, so anything not picked up on a Saturday must be picked up on Monday.  

When you arrive to pick up your order, please have the FULL NAME of the person who placed the order, and know WHAT you are picking up.  This will make the process much smoother for everyone!

Creative License

Our talented decorators will follow customer provided directions and specifications to the best of their ability.  However, we reserve the right to make game-time decisions to ensure that the desserts that leave our bakery meet our extremely high standards.  Every single item is hand made, and that requires a lot of different hands - nothing will be exactly alike.  We will do our very best to match the colors and ideas of our customers, within our abilities.

Large Orders and Weddings

Because we are such a small bakery, we have a hard time accommodating very large orders.  If you aren’t able to place your order online, we are most likely booked up and not able to take on your order.  All of our orders are taken on a first come, first serve basis, so get them in early!

If you are interested in having our desserts for your wedding, please know that your cakes, cupcakes, etc. will be exactly as they are on our menu - we do not do custom or tiered cakes. We do not offer tastings or consultations, and instead encourage couples to come into the bakery and purchase a few items they are interested in.  You may purchase a tasting box (call the shop to order, not available online), which is 12 mini cupcakes in flavors that will be available during the month of your wedding. We have a wide variety of cupcakes and cookies in the shop daily.

GrubHub and UberEats

You can now get our delicious cupcakes, cookies, and cake slices on UberEats and GrubHub!  You may specify what flavors you would like, and we will do our best to include them - however, if we don’t happen to have it in the shop that day, we can’t include it (sorry!).  Please make sure you put the correct delivery address in the app, and that someone will be there to accept the delivery.  Once the desserts leave our bakery, we cannot cancel the order and you will be charged by the delivery company.

Returns, Refunds and Exchanges

Baked goods are extremely perishable!  We do our best to provide instructions regarding storage and care of our treats, but we can only do so much - YOU are ultimately responsible for making sure your desserts arrive and stay fresh and beautiful!  Once the desserts leave our shop, we cannot control how they are transported, handled, or stored.  Seriously folks, we’ve had a customer bring a cake back 5 minutes after they left our bakery because they had to slam on the brakes and their cake went flying - we did our best to repair it, but we are not magicians!  When we hand you the desserts, we also hand you the responsibility - and we do not accept returns, or provide refunds or exchanges.

If for some reason you are not satisfied with your dessert, please contact us at hello@sugarbakeshopchs.com WITHIN 2 DAYS of the date you picked up your order and provide the following information: your name, the name the order was placed under, the pick up date and time, photos of all angles including product and packaging, a detailed description of the issue, and information on how your item was transported and stored.  We will do our very best to address any concerns and find the proper resolution.  Again, our baked goods are perishable - any order disputes placed after the 48 hour window or without all proper information will NOT be eligible for a refund or exchange!

Modifications and Cancellations

If you would like to modify your order that was placed in shop, by phone, or online through our website, please give us a call at 843-579-2891 at least two days before your order is scheduled to be picked up.  We can usually accommodate any changes fairly easily.  Once we have begun prepping and baking your order, however, changes become very difficult.  The earlier you can get in touch, the better!  

If you would like to cancel an order, please call us at least 2 days before your pick up date - 3 days is preferable!  Again, once we’ve begun prepping and baking your order, we will not be able to cancel or provide a refund.  This is especially true for cakes, pies, and large orders - cupcake and cookie orders are easier to cancel, but please give us as much notice as you can.  

We may be able to offer you a refund or a different pick up date, but that will be determined by the Sugar team.  We will do our best to accommodate you, but please know that it does take a lot of time and effort to make your treats.
